Katey Jones

It's been almost 2 years since I last blogged on this thing so let me get things rolling again.

Katey is my dearest friend. Here are 10 things I like about her.

  1. I like that we went to high school together, but probably never even spoke directly to each other.
  2. I like that we work together at the bank
  3. I like that we are cousins.
  4. I like that she is the first person that I tell about certain things. . . . like being gay and stuff.
  5. I like that she never judges me, just helps me improve.
  6. I like that she collects random chairs.
  7. I like that she is going to own a small town someday.
  8. I like when she says "catch me" and jumps into my arms. . . it helps me feel manly.
  9. I like that she lets me pretend to be her boyfriend.
  10. I like that we can just chill on a Saturday night and be perfectly content in a situation that other, less secure people might view as pathetic.

Katey changed (showed me) my life.

Kaylie Watkins

I'm sorry it has been so long since a "What I Like About You" post. So here it is:

Kaylie Watkins
  1. She was my date to Junior Prom in 2005 and Homecoming in 2008. (That's right, I went to Homecoming two years AFTER graduation.)

  4. She taught me what a "cholo" is and how to lean like one.

Molly DiFrancesco

Here it is folks, the next installment of "What I Like About You"

Today's spotlight:

Molly "Moll-Doll" "Grack" "Checko" DiFrancesco

Things I like about Molly:
  1. She is going on a mission. (probably to somewhere French-speaking)
  2. We became friends when she shouted "I'll be your friend" across the room in Mr. Dunnebacke's Honors Chemistry class. (We both dropped the class shortly afterward.)
  3. She is a people magnet.
  4. All you have to do is hang out with her for ten minutes and she will be your friend for life.
  5. She is Chelsea's twin. (On a side note, I am her brother, Gavin's twin. Just ask him.)
  6. In high school, she always answered the phone when I called her to tell her I finally kissed someone. (This happened more than you'd think.)
  7. She appreciates the finer things in life; things like sweat-pants, cheese toast, RedBox, and hot-fudge sundaes.
  8. She is surprisingly crafty.
  9. She was willing to have Companionship Study with me when I got home from my mission.
  10. She loves my best friend, JoJo. But she is also willing to share him with me so I can have a missionary too.

Molly has been, still is, and always will be there for me. What's more, she has probably been, probably still is, and probably always will be there for you too.

Thing I like about me today:

  • I like that I fixed my own pants this week.

Landon & Kylie Burgener

My next spotlight is focused on not one, but TWO people. They are a package deal, and that's part of their appeal. Who doesn't love 2 for the price of 1? Presenting, what I like about Landon & Kylie Burgener:

Landon:

  • Landon is the coolest nerd I have ever had the pleasure of knowing.
  • He likes geology and dinosaurs.
  • He is a fan of Ben Folds.
  • He is the kind of married-guy I hope to be someday.
  • I would even venture to say that he is like an older brother to me.

Kylie:

  • I knew I liked Kylie when she was wearing a Joel P. Jensen hoodie the first time I met her.
  • I am always blown away by the amazing pictures she takes.
  • She plays tennis. While I am yet to reap the benefits of her tennis skills, I look forward to getting my butt kicked by this girl in the near future.
  • She likes Arthur. Need I say more?

The Burgeners:

  1. They took me in as a cousin, no questions asked.
  2. They do cool things with me and Chelsea.
  3. Even though they are married, they have managed to hang on to their cool factor. In fact, they have somehow managed to use their marriage to boost the cool factor.
  4. They have goals, and as far as I can tell, they are achieving their goals.
  5. They use their library cards. (Having fun isn't hard. . . .)
  6. I have never been around them and NOT laughed.
  7. They could turn ANY topic into an interesting, and even eye-opening, conversation.
  8. They do things like read "The Hobbit" and go to the latest "Star Wars" movie.
  9. They didn't mock me that one time I wore 3/4 length pants.
  10. Even though I haven't taken advantage of it, I know they are always there for me.

The Burgeners have been a great addition to my life since I have been home. I have been so grateful for their friendship during these past couple months, and I look forward to being their friend even after Chelsea's missionary comes home and I get the boot. (hopefully this doesn't happen, but I'm prepared for the worst.)

The thing I like about me today:

  • I like that I have gone to the gym four times this week.

Rachel Trayner

Like I said before, it's really hard to decide who will be featured next. Everybody, just wait your turn. It's gonna be a LONG time before I do anything truly productive with my life. You're time will come.

But for one of you, you're lucky time has come.

RAY TRAY!!!

  1. Rachel was my first friend who learned to drive. This means that I have been putting my life in her hands long before anyone else. You can't beat that.
  2. She currently lives in Hawaii, how cool is that?
  3. She was there for the best time of my life: Cedar City.
  4. She is probably the most talented musician I have ever had the pleasure of working with on ANYTHING.
  5. She loves peach rings and rootbeer. What good taste.
  6. She has never been afraid to speak her mind.
  7. One time we weren't friends for a couple days, that was horrible.
  8. She is a reliable source when it comes to all things musical. Anything from classical to modern punk, she is all over all the scenes.
  9. She is beautiful. Have you seen her?
  10. She is always game for a good photo shoot.

I can't wait for Rachel to come back in January. I already had to endure a long time without her while I was in Belgium. This is just torture.

PS- The thing I like about me today?

  • I like that I wear unnecessary* glasses.

*unnecessary does NOT mean fake.

Chelsea DiFrancesco

Okay folks, it's time for the first edition of "What I Like About You."
I have been losing sleep trying to decide who should be given the honor of having the first post on this blog. In the end, it simply came down to who I thought had shown the most interest in this blog and others in the past. The obvious answer? Chill D.
Things I Like about Chill
  1. She has found a way to be adventurous and lazy at the same time. It's a dying art.
  2. She is super smart. I know a lot of super smart people, but the cool thing about Chill is that while most super-smart people tend to make me feel stupid, she has the power to make even me feel smarter.
  3. She kicks butt at scrabble, but she's not a good speller. Figure that out.
  4. She is a tourist in her own town.
  5. She taught me how to make my favorite Sunday dish: Grilled Three Cheeses.
  6. The is the only college drop-out I know with a full-ride scholarship to anywhere, let alone Westminster College.
  7. She is loyal to her credit union. (Kind of a flaw in my eyes, but these days it's nice to see anybody who is loyal to anything.)
  8. She lets me speak french to her.
  9. She is a daredevil. Yep, she is. If you know her, this one probably surprises you, but it's the truth. How do I know this? I drove her car one time. I'm pretty sure it has no brakes.
  10. All kidding aside, Chill is one of my best friends. She was my only friend in the valley before my mission, and she is still around now that I'm home. Now we will see what happens when that boy of hers gets home. Hopefully I will be able to add to this list.

*If you have ever played "What I Like About You" before, then you know that when someone is finished complimenting everyone else, it's time for them to say one thing they like about themselves. The thing I like about myself today is this:

  • I like my new-found man crush on John Mayer.
